Laviolette Group Home

Our residential facilities, home away from home.

Across the street from the main facility is the LaViolette House, which is a 10 bed group home for our "little guys", both boys and girls ages 6-12. This home provides shelter care for children who need a safe place to stay while in life transition, perhaps between foster homes or awaiting another family placement option. We also have children within this home who struggle with sexually reactive behaviors, which are addressed within their counseling program.

This beautiful farmhouse features two living rooms, a dining room, a large kitchen and four bedrooms - all in the hopes of creating a place that can function like home.

Children sleep 2-3 per room in bedrooms that are all situated around a central landing where our staff watch over them throughout the night. All our LaViolette home staff have been trained using approved therapeutic crisis intervention technique, with additional training that applies to handling the issues significant to our younger residents.

Outside the LaViolette home, students can ride bikes in the circular drive out front or play a game of one-on-one basketball. During the warmer months, our children often play soccer, football, frisbee or tag in the spacious side yard. We also have playground equipment and a sandbox in the side yard for our youngest residents.

Residents in this home also attend planned activities and get free rec time at our recreational facility and have age-appropriate art classes several times a week.
